- Supertruck powers up Goodwood Hillclimb to win Shoot-Out.
- Another Ford, the Mustang GTD, is the fastest Production Car.
- Blast from the past as Greg Murphy joins timed runs in Holden Monaro 427C.
A Ford commercial vehicle (well, not really...) is once again the fastest vehicle up the Hillclimb in the UK's annual Goodwood Festival of Speed. Romain Dumas won the Timed Shoot-Out on Sunday July 13 in the Ford Supertruck, with a time of 43.22 seconds - beating his 2024 win in the Ford Supervan 4.2 (43.99).

Supertruck, Supervan... are not really a truck or van at all, of course, but rolling prototypes with monstrous pure-electric powertrains and high-tech chassis technology at work: triple motors with 1050kW and bespoke inboard suspension.
The powertrain is the same across both in fact, but the Supertruck's aerodynamics are even more advanced. Ford says it can produce up to 2.7 tonnes of downforce.
Scott Speed's Subaru Project Midnight was Supertruck's main rival on the day: it finished second overall, with a time of 45.03sec.

The Timed Shoot-Out is split into several classes; both Supertruck and Subaru Project Midnight are categorised as Modified Specials, which is code for "anything goes".
But there are some other glorious sights to see among this year's 27 Shoot-Out entrants (check out the Class Winners video above), with other classes including Pre War: Front Engined & Open Wheel, GT Racers, Sportcars, Touring Cars, Rally Cars and Production Cars.
The fastest Production Car up the hill was the Ford Mustang GTD.
You'll also see a Kiwi icon in the top times list: Greg Murphy piloted a Holden Monaro 427C Touring Car up the Hillclimb, posting the 7th fastest time overall (50.37sec).
