Ford is heading back to the clouds - but this time, it’s bringing its fiercest electric beast yet.
After back-to-back Pikes Peak appearances with the electric SuperVan and SuperTruck, the Blue Oval is taking on the legendary hill climb in a feral new form: a heavily modified Mustang Mach-E.
More wing than pony
Dubbed unofficially as the “Super Mach-E,” the EV wears the nameplate’s signature tri-bar taillights but little else feels familiar. Hugging the ground with a track-ready stance, it boasts a monstrous rear wing and an equally theatrical diffuser.
Up front, a massive splitter juts out like a statement of intent. From every angle, this machine looks purpose-built for war - not roads.
Ford hasn’t spilled much beyond the visuals, but it’s safe to assume this is more racing prototype than production crossover. As with its previous hill climb entries, it likely features a Mach-E shell sitting on a bespoke motorsport chassis.
Downforce dialled to 11
The biggest number Ford has shared? Downforce. At 6125 pounds (2779kg), this Mach-E outsticks both the SuperVan 4.2 and the SuperTruck - each impressive in their own right. For comparison, the SuperTruck topped out at 6000 pounds (2722kg).
Power output hasn’t been confirmed yet, but if history repeats, expect three electric motors and around 1044kW (1400hp) driving this beast up the mountain. Ford has not disclosed exact performance specs yet.
Eyes on June 22
The 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb kicks off on June 22. Ford hasn’t said if it’s gunning for another record, but last year’s SuperVan effort shaved nearly 37 seconds off the benchmark time - so expectations are, understandably, sky-high.
And with the Super Mach-E’s race-bred aggression and extreme aero, this could be Ford’s most dramatic ascent yet.
