Good news for all you Ford loving philatelists out there (or even just Ford fans who want something a bit unique in their collection); Australia Post is celebrating Ford Australia's 100th birthday this year with the release of a limited-edition stamp collection.
The collection features four iconic Blue Oval models, each representing a pivotal moment in the company's century-long history in Australia.

Each of the four stamps carries a face value of AU$1.70 (NZ$1.90) and features designs by Sharon Rodziewicz of Australia Post Design Studio, with accurate renderings by Hughes Motorsport Art. Additionally, the stamps include black-and-white photographs of Ford’s Broadmeadows factory by renowned German-born photographer Wolfgang Sievers.
The collection begins with the Model T, the first Ford to be assembled in Australia in 1925, and a vehicle Ford says is "celebrated for its role in making motoring broadly accessible".

Next is an enduring Australian icon from the mid-1960s; the XP Falcon. In 1965, the XP gained prominence after completing an intensive 112,000km, nine-day durability track test at Ford’s You Yangs proving ground near Geelong.
The XP Falcon was the first Australian car to receive the prestigious Wheels ‘Car of the Year’ award, and a total of 70,998 XP Falcons were produced on assembly lines in Brisbane and Melbourne between 1965 and 1966.

The third stamp features the XA Falcon GT, a car that represents a cornerstone in the Falcon’s 56-year heritage. Launched in 1972, the XA Falcon marked a significant achievement as the first fully Australian-designed and built Falcon. Its distinctive "coke bottle" body styling, mighty 351ci Cleveland V8 engine, and back-to-back victories at Bathurst solidified its status as a poster child of 1970s Australian muscle car culture, garnering a devoted fanbase during its era.
Rounding out the collection is the FG X Falcon XR8, which served as the Falcon’s swansong after more than half a century of sales. This model was the final series of V8-powered Falcon to roll off the Broadmeadows assembly line, with production spanning from October 2014 to October 2016.

"As we celebrate Ford Australia’s Centenary, we’re excited to collaborate with Australia Post to commemorate four notable models from the past 100 years," said Andrew Birkic, President and CEO of Ford Australia and New Zealand.
"We’re honoured that Ford has found a place in the lives of so many Australians through the decades, and this new collectable stamp range is a keepsake for all fans that bleed blue. As we look to the next 100 years, these four models are a reminder of our roots, and how Australian motoring continues to evolve."

Josh Bannister, Australia Post Executive General Manager Retail, Brand and Marketing, added, “Ford has been part of everyday life in Australia for a century, so this stamp is a great way to celebrate that legacy. It honours the cars, the people who built them, and the stories they’ve created across the country”.
The limited-edition centenary stamp collection will be available for purchase online at Australia Post's website starting from September 2, 2025, and further historical information about Ford Australia's century-plus legacy is accessible through the fantastic Ford Heritage Vault website.
