Spare a thought for those trapped in the chaos of Houston, who continue to reel after the heft of Hurricane Harvey tore through their city. Latest reports state that at least 63 people have died as a result of the violent floods, with potentially more people still to be discovered amidst the ongoing recovery.
Of course, another element of the hurricane has been the loss of property — be it childhood memories, entire households, or cars.
Lots and lots of cars.
Videos and images have started to find their way onto the internet and social media, underlining some of the more desirable four-wheeled machines who have been met with various amounts of flooding. In my internet travels, I've seen numerous Chevrolet Corvette ZO6s, Porsche 911s, and this poor defenseless Viper Coupe, all ravaged by the storm.
And among the most recently shared discoveries are one household's dual Ferrari 458s, their Ford GT, and a pair of new Mercedes-Benzes. They're in the video above, along with a selection of motorbikes.
Flood damage isn't necessarily the death knell for all these cars, as already there are tales of some of them starting up again and ultimately being salvaged and repaired. However, something like a mid-engined Ferrari surely doesn't stand such a great chance...
