Ferrari boss expects big Kiwi demand for the GTC4Lusso T

Ferrari has revealed the GTC4Lusso T in Sydney at the Australasian launch of what the company says is its first four-seater V8.

Priced from $473,000, the Ferrari is on sale now in New Zealand with delivered expected mid next year.

The Gran Turismo (GT) is aimed at buyers after a car that is sporty, versatile, and ideal for driving on a daily basis, says Ferrari Australia and NZ CEO, Herbert Appleroth.

The car has a 3.9-litre V8 turbo “from the engine family that was nominated the 2016 International Engine of the Year” Appleroth told the media at the event.

“The V8 turbo’s characteristics suit day-to-day driving in urban contexts … it is more muted at lower speeds, rapid pick-up from low revs courtesy of versatile, modular torque delivery and, last but not least, excellent range.”

Appleroth told Driven that New Zealander customers had already ordered the GTCLusso T, with the V12 GTCLusso and the California T convertible also big sellers in our market this year.

“New Zealand has a great demand for GTC … with a record 23 or 24 registrations of new Ferraris this year,” he told Driven.

Pre-owned Ferraris have also been in demand for Kiwi owners this year.

“Victoria followed by New Zealand had a record year and we can’t get enough stock,” says Appleroth.
