  • 400kW and 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds from $60k Performance model.

Company claims this is the most aero EV sedan you can buy.

A rival for the BYD Seal and Tesla Model 3, the pure-electric 007 starts at $54,900 for the 200kW Long Range rear-drive model, but for another $5k you can step up to the Performance AWD at $59,990, which doubles the power to 400kW - and provides claimed 0-100km/h performance of 3.9 seconds.

The 007 is the largest model in the Dongfeng lineup. Both versions have a 70kWh battery providing range of 520km for the RWD and 389km for the AWD (both WLTP).

Armstrong's says the fastback design "delivers the efficiency of a sedan with the practicality of a hatch - without the aerodynamic penalties of an SUV". It also claims the 0.209 drag coefficient makes it the most aerodynamically efficient EV sedan available in NZ.

Fast chip should make infotainment a tasty experience.

Inside, the 15.6-inch digital interface is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 computing chip.

Both models feature a 1.84 square-metre Double Coated Panoramic Glass roof, frameless doors, 19-inch alloy wheels, adjustable height electric tailgate, "soft touch" leather upholstery, power front seats with ventilation, Apple CarPlay and wireless mobile phone charging. Android Auto is listed as an option.

The 19-speaker Wanos "theatre-grade" panoramic sound system includes integrated headrest speakers and ambient lighting synchronisation.

A different interior trim is reserved for each model: Grey/Black for the Long Range and Ivory/Grey for the Performance.

Orchid Purple exclusive to the 400kW Performance, so people know not to race you at the lights.

The 007 comes standard in Morning White as standard, or is available with a $499 colour paint option with choices consisting of Night Shadow Black, Sun Gold, Stone Grey and, exclusively for the Performance version, Orchid Purple.

Safety and intelligent technology includes six airbags, rear parking sensors and a 540-degree surround-view camera. The 007 has not been tested by NCAP/ANCAP, but carries a five-star Vehicle Safety Risk Rating (VSRR) in NZ.

The 007 comes with a six-year/200,000 km vehicle warranty, eight-year/200,000km battery warranty and six years roadside assistance.
