Arguably the most highly-anticipated car release of 2019, the mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette C8 sent waves around the automotive world thanks to the incredible engineering behind it.

While it was announced on the same day as the reveal that Holden would be bringing right-hand drive models into New Zealand and Australia, the death of the iconic Australian brand left hopeful buyers wondering if the car is ever going to make it down here.

Yes, this is my car. I did not want this to to be shared publicly until after the dealer had the opportunity to correct this crappy situation. Apparently some idiots in their service department took it upon themselves to try and get some clout from my misfortune by taking pictures and sharing them with out my consent. To the fellow C8 owners, please ensure your dealer is aware of the diagram in the second picture before you leave your car with them.#LT2 #c8corvette #c8 #chevrolet #mishap #c8mishap #chevroletperformance #chevroletcorvette #stingray #stingraycorvette #jmspedalmax @team_corvette @thec8page @_c8corvette @thecorvettec8 @corvette_ambassador1953 @corvette @maxxperfectiondetailing @premiervinylworks

Unfortunately, we still don't have an answer as to whether a right-hand drive Corvette will ever be sold in New Zealand through 'Chevrolet Special Vehicles', or not it's not looking good.

So if you're still after a C8 Corvette, you can try to import a brand new one yourself, for a couple hundred grand, or try and this one that was damaged at a dealership in Jacksonville Florida for a much cheaper price.

The story goes that back in May, the owner had recently taken delivery of the mid-engined Corvette, and took it to a dealership presumably for the first service.

Unfortunately, while it was at the dealership, techs failed to load the car correctly on the lift, leading to disaster. Pictures of the damaged Corvette then went viral after being posted to Instagram.

In his Instagram post, the owner explains that the lift didn't break like a lot of speculative comments were assuming, and instead, the weight balance of the C8 wasn't correctly supported by the lift's arms.

Recently, the car was spotted in a Copart wrecking yard in Florida, showing the full extent of the C8's damage, and it's not in great shape.

According to the auction listing, the car still runs and drives, and with only 5000km on the odometer, is the perfect candidate to be restored.
