Conor McGregor shows off new toys on Instagram
MMA’s biggest trash talker, and current UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor, has been having a lot of fun recently thanks to his purchase of a BMW i8 and a Rolls Royce Dawn.
Following his defeat of archenemy Nate Diaz at UFC 202, McGregor took some time off from his busy training schedule for a well-deserved break. Helping him in his relaxation was his new BMW i8 and Rolls Royce Dawn. McGregor also took every opportunity to document his new toys on his Instagram account, which is great news for his legion of fans.
In terms of describing the relationship of the car to the man himself, the BMW i8 is a great fit for McGregor. Its sleek aerodynamic design is a natural match for his superior grace, as well as his elegant style out of the octagon. With a B38A15T0 1.5L turbocharged I3 engine the i8 can go from 0-100km in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 230km, and such speed complements McGregor’s stance as one of the UFC’s quickest strikers.
In addition to its high-powered engine, and sleek design the i8 also features butterfly doors, a custom HUD display, and rear view cameras to enable better vision and performance when in reverse. The i8 is also the first car of its kind to include laser headlights, which only add to its high-tech cool factor.
But for a fighter like McGregor, the i8 is merely an appetiser and he has also been posting images of his brand new Rolls Royce Dawn.
McGregor has long had an affinity for Rolls Royce and has previously been seen behind the wheel of a Rolls Royce Wraith. But this is a man who prides himself on flaunting the latest and greatest toys, and the Dawn is a terrific upgrade for the UFC’s most dapper fighter
This two-door convertible screams luxury, especially in its custom made wood and leather interior, while its engine is a direct-injection twin-turbo 6.6-litre V12 that can reach up to speeds of 250kms. But we’re more than certain that McGregor no doubt takes his time behind the wheel of his Dawn, and is content to just cruise around Venice Beach.
McGregor recently took to the stage as part of a promotional event for UFC 205, which will see him fight current UFC Lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez for the Lightweight Championship. As always McGregor held nothing back in the pre-fight banter and made a prediction of a first round KO. The fight will be held on November 12 at Madison Square Garden, New York and will be the first time that the UFC will be held in New York following the overturning of a longstanding ban on professional MMA fights in the state.
It will surely be an interesting contest for McGregor, but no matter what the outcome is he’ll certainly be rolling in style to the event.
