- Restomod based on classic Porsche 912 from 1965-69.
- 'Maintains the charm of a 1960s sports car' says the company.
- Yours for just NZ$480,000 (not including donor car).
Kamm has revealed its new creation, a restomod Touring version of the classic Porsche 912. The company is already known for its 912C, designed for both road and track, but says the 912T is a response to requests for "a more relaxed, touring version.”

Founded by Miklós Kázmér in Budapest, Hungary, Kamm focuses solely on the 912 sports car produced between 1965-1969. It's not the obvious choice among lusted-after classic 911 models, but the company says it's been chosen for its now-iconic 4-cylinder engine, its clean lines and outstanding handling balance, given it's the lightest of the line.
Taking an original 912, steel panels are replaced with carbon. Kamm engineers enhance the chassis, brakes suspension, wheels and tyres and replace all original elements with brand new, factory parts including lights, fixings, and rubbers.
The company says its point of difference among restomods is that it "maintains the charm of a 1960s sports car, with sensitive updates, instead of trying to completely modernise the 912 driving experience."

At 860kg, the comfort features of the 912T add some weight compared to the 912C, but it's still 100kg lighter than the original 912. That's largely thanks to the in-house-manufactured carbon fibre for key pieces of bodywork, including the bumpers, wings, bonnet and boot lid.
The 912T features metal doors and glass windows, enhancing the interior refinement, especially on longer journeys.

The Kamm team includes former engineers from Porsche Motorsport, Singer and Koenigsegg. It's worked extensively on the famous "616" 4-cylinder engine to suit the new model's touring aspirations. Power is 123kW/201Nm the redline of 6500rpm is lower than that of the 912C.
A non-valved touring exhaust system adds to the more relaxed feel and the transmission has been re-calibrated to ensure a smoother shift.

The tailor-made one-way Tractive suspension system is tuned to provide a more comfortable ride. The 912T is available with a choice of wheels, including classic Fuchs 15-inch alloys, or another 15in alloy style with a "steelies" look.
The seats are handcrafted and tailored by Fusina, designed for more comfort in the 912T. Smiths instruments create a focal point and there is a range of options, including a discretely hidden audio system and wireless phone charging.

Prices for the Kamm 912T start at €245,000 (NZ$482,000) - excluding the donor car. It will be built in "strictly limited batches of five", says the company, starting next year.
