New Chevrolet Trax revealed in US
A facelift for the Chevrolet Trax has been revealed in the US ahead of its debut at the Chicago auto show, which starts this week.
The updated Trax features a new front-end look with thinner, but wider, headlights, which on top-spec models incorporates LED driving lights.
There's also an iteration of the Chevrolet's "dual port" grille design, as well as a new bonnet, front bumper, and front wings. Around the rear, the changes are less dramatic, with a subtly redesigned rear bumper and new tail-lights the only noticeable changes.
As with the closely related Opel Mokka X, which was updated last week, the interior of the Trax has been given a substantial makeover.
The dashboard been redesigned and can now accomodate the company's 7-inch touchscreen display for the MyLink infotainment system, which is compatible with both the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring standards.
While 4G LTE connectivity and Wi-Fi hotspot capability are available as well, the Trax misses out on the larger 8-inch display that's present on the high-end Mokka X models.
Ahead of the driver there's a completely revised instrument panel, which ditches the current car's white-on-blue LCD speedometer for a more traditional design with analogue gauges flanking a trip computer display.
New features available in America-bound facelifted Trax models include keyless entry, push-button start, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, and lane departure alert.
The revised Trax goes on sale in the US from the third quarter of 2016. CarAdvice understands that the facelifted Trax will definitely be coming to Australasian markets, although the timing and exact details of the updates have yet to be determined or announced.
