Did the new Kia Stinger GT not do it for you? Is the aggressive nose of the new Toyota Camry a little bit ‘too much’?
Never fear, Chevrolet is here.
Lining up alongside all of the clean-cut cars of the 2017 Detroit Auto Show was Chevrolet's latest game-changing creation — a full-scale Batmobile built entirely out of Lego.
According to Chevrolet's own website, the Batmobile ‘Speedwagon’ is “built from the ground up to take super villains down,” and going by the comprehensive list of specs, they're not wrong.
Included in the exceptional vehicle's arsenal of features is; an intelligent sensor system that can sense nerds, flaming rocket boosters, sextuple exhaust, and, of course, 4G Wi-Fi. And all of this is powered by the long rumoured a 60.2-litre V100 engine — one we hope to see arrive on our shores for the next-generation Holden Epica.
However despite the focus on technology, the Batmobile remains handbuilt. More than 344,000 bricks of Lego went into its construction, with the team behind the project taking more than nine days to design it, and more than 76 days building it.
At this early stage, we don't yet know whether Chevrolet's Lego Batmobile is production ready. However it's fair to say that many of its styling cues — things like the purple plastic flames coming out from the exhaust pipes and the cubic design language — are going to feature on General Motors products over the coming years.
Believe me. This incredible machine is about to change the game for good.
