The 2017 Suzuki S-Cross range will feature remodeled front end styling, more equipment and new engine options.
With a focus on more equipment as standard, Suzuki have scraped the entry-level GLX, opting to service Kiwi customers with the LTD and flagship Prestige models.
A choice of two engines will be available for both models – A 1.6 litre, 16 valve naturally aspirated unit and Suzuki’s latest generation 1.4 litre Boosterjet turbo-charged motor, the same one fitted to the Vitara Turbo.
Both power units will be bolted to a new six speed automatic transmission with paddle shift, replacing the CVT used previously.
The lastest S-Cross weighs in at 1,160 kg’s. As with the previous model, the S-Cross has McPherson strut front suspension and torsion beams in the rear, but handling has been improved in the new model with revised suspension and damper settings.
As standard, both models will come with a 7 inch screen display, Bluetooth, Apple Car Play, satellite navigation, reversing camera, keyless entry, dual zone climate control, cruise control, front and rear armrests, fog lamps, integrated roof rails, silver sill plates, tilt and telescopic steering and two-position rear seat adjustment.
LTD automatic is priced at $29,990 plus ORC’s – LTD iAWD (intelligent all-wheel drive) priced at $33,990 plus ORC’s.

The S-Cross LTD goes on local sale immediately, while due to high international demand for the Boosterjet engine, the Prestige turbo will not be available until March.
