As one of the most replicated classic cars on the road, the Shelby Cobra is certainly iconic, with some genuine models fetching over $1 million when crossing the auction block in recent years.

So while stuffing a genuine Cobra into your garage is a pleasure reserved only for the world's one-percenters, but what's even better than that? Owning one that Carroll used to own, obviously.

According to Mecum auctions, this car is one of just five 427 Cobras originally finished in charcoal gray, and was owned by Shelby right up until his death in 2012.

It then was sold by his estate in 2016, and went on to receive a ground-up restoration by Legendary Motorcar Company in 2019. Here, the 7.0-litre V8 got a full refresh, with its aluminum heads and four-barrel carburetors.

Like all Cobras, power is sent to the rear wheels through a Toploader four-speed manual transmission. The car also features chrome bumpers at both ends, and rides on a set of Sunburst knock-off wheels.

It's hard to say how much a car like this will sell for, as it is one of the most significant Shelby Cobras in existence. A couple of years back, the very first Cobra sold for $18 million at auction, so its literally anyone's guess at this point.

If this is a little out of your budget, maybe settling for something like this Mad Max Interceptor replica might be a better option.
