Ford Romania give Uber customers a ride to remember
The new Ford Focus RS is pretty much the Pokémon Go of the car world right now.
I'm not saying that because it infuriates those who don't get it. But it's just that the motoring press simply can't stop talking about it right now; whether it's Matt LeBlanc going out and buying one, New Zealand's allotment of them selling out, or the mainstream Australian media completely missing the point of everything about the Focus RS.
And today we add another article to the pile, through Ford Romania's latest RS twist — with the help of an Uber driver and a new ... spin ... on the surprise race driver video.
I'm going to come clean immediately and confirm that I know none of the words being thrown around here. But the whole thing is pretty simple. It's your classic hidden-camera bit, with the RS rigged to the rafters with cameras pointing at the occupants.
Anyway, they fawn over the car's sporting interior before all agreeing to a quick slideways detour at a figure eight in a parking lot — looks ranging from joy to terror as the blue bullet and its professional driver boosts around the course with Drift Mode emphatically selected.
Quite often these things are rigged with actors paid to look surprised and scream, but the joy present from just about everyone appears quite genuine.
This is where this article ends, but it's most likely not the end of the Ford RS hype train — a train that seemingly has no brakes.
