Brendon Hartley's Toro Rosso teammate Pierre Gasly has got the nod to move up to Red Bull Racing as Daniel Ricciardo's replacement for 2019.
Gasly will switch to Red Bull's senior team for next year's Formula 1 season.
Gasly is in only his first full season in F1, but he will now drive alongside Max Verstappen.
Ricciardo stunned Red Bull earlier this month by announcing a move to Renault.
It's possibly good news for Hartley who has earned two points this season, with a strong chance Toro Rosso won't replace two seats for the 2019 season.
With much more recent open-wheel racing experience under his belt, Gasly has been a sound performer for Toro Rosso this season.
Thus far, he has earned three points-paying finishes — the best of which being a fourth-place finish at Bahrain. Hartley by contrast, still acclimatising to Formula 1, has only finished in the points twice.
The pair sit 12th and 19th in the standings, respectfully.
The next round of the Formula 1 calendar is the Belgian GP, which takes place this weekend.
