Launched in 1999, the X5 helped elevate the luxury off-road segment, even creating a new 'Sports Activity Vehicle' (SAV) class for itself that blended practicality with performance.

Over the past quarter-century, the X5 has consistently pushed the boundaries of and design and innovation in luxury SUVs.

Since its global debut, the BMW X5 has sold over three million units worldwide, with 6,257 of those finding homes in New Zealand, according to BMW.

The SUV's success is not just in numbers but in the way it has shaped the market and continually set new benchmarks.

In 2023, the X5 received a lifecycle impulse update, adding mild-hybrid engine technology to improve efficiency further.
