BMW have taken the wraps off the first high performance variant of the already potent M4 coupe, the M4 GTS .
Built to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the BMW M3, the M4 GTS is limited to just 700 units and the ante with its powerful motor sport-inspired looks and high-performance technology setting its sights squarely on the race track.
You know this is true with the GTS putting down a lap time of 7.28 minutes around the legendary Nürburgring-Nordschleife, which recently allowed manufacturers to run full speed laps again.
Racing from a standstill to 100 km/h in only 3.8 seconds the M4 GTS keeps going until it hits a limited top speed of 305 km/h. No wonder it lapped the 'ring in so quick a time.
The M4 GTS like its BMW M stablemates – can also hold its own on public roads, and will be the first high performance M3/M4 variant to be sold in North America.
BMW NZ has confirmed to Driven that the M4 GTS is expected to reach our shores in the fourth quarter of this year, with pricing yet to be confirmed.
