BMW is to celebrate 30 years of open-top, M-Powered sedans with the new M4 Convertible Edition 30 Years.

The new drop-top M4 commemorates three decades since the first M convertible was released, the 1988 BMW M3 Convertible. Now 30-years on, BMW will offer a special edition, modern incarnation of the original complete with new colour options and some unique equipment.

The BMW M4 Convertible Edition 30 Years will be available in two exclusive colours referencing the current M4 Convertable's forebarers. Macao Blue metallic pays homage to the original M3 Convertible from 3 decades ago, and Mandarin II uni is similar to Dakar Yellow which was available for the second generation M3 Convertible.

The exterior will also feature High Gloss Shadow Line trims for the kidney grille surround, M side gills and forged M light alloys in a star- spoke design. The 20-inch wheels come in Orbit Grey matt offered exclusively for the edition model.

The interior is finished in Merino full leather trim, but customers that select Macao Blue body paint will be offered a choice of two-tone Merino leather seats with contrast stitching.

The cabin is completed with M floor mats, carbon fibre trim pieces and "30 Jahre Edition" door sill plates, and an individually numbered badge.

Global allocation of the BMW M4 Edition 30 has been limited to 300 vehicles and the order book has now been opened.

BMW New Zealand has confirmed with Driven that one M4 Edition 30 has been secured for our local market, likely to arrive around Spring.
