New Continental GT S adds hybrid V8 power.

New Continental GT S adds hybrid V8 power.

  • The Continental GT S and GTC S use a hybrid 4.0-litre V8 producing 500kW and 930Nm.
  • Bentley Performance Active Chassis is now standard, adding all-wheel steering and electronic differential control.
  • The hybrid system allows up to 80km of electric-only driving alongside 306km/h top speed.

Bentley has expanded its Continental line-up with the launch of the new Continental GT S and Continental GTC S, bringing sharper dynamics, darker styling and the brand’s latest hybrid powertrain into a more driver-focused sweet spot.

Inspired by the limited-run Supersports, the new S models sit neatly between luxury cruisers and full-bore GT Speed variants.

More muscle, fewer compromises

At the heart of the new GT S and GTC S is Bentley’s High Performance Hybrid system, pairing a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with electric assistance.

Total output climbs to 500kW and 930Nm — a sizeable lift of 96kW over the previous S models and, according to Bentley, enough to outperform the old W12-powered Speed across power, torque and acceleration.

Performance figures back up the claim. Bentley quotes 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 306km/h, with a sports exhaust amplifying the V8’s crossplane soundtrack. There’s also a quieter side: the hybrid system allows up to 80km of pure electric driving, adding a layer of flexibility to the grand touring brief.

Chassis tech from the big guns

The S badge now brings more than just extra shove. For the first time, Continental GT S models adopt the Bentley Performance Active Chassis previously reserved for GT Speed and Mulliner variants. That includes active all-wheel drive, torque vectoring, twin-valve dampers, 48V active anti-roll control and an electronic limited-slip differential.

All-wheel steering also joins the package, sharpening turn-in at lower speeds and adding stability at higher ones. Bentley’s latest ESC software allows a broader range of driver-adjustable behaviour, from tightly managed grip through to more playful rear-axle slip in Dynamic mode.

Darker looks, focused cabin

Visually, the S models lean hard into their sporting intent. Blackline Specification brings gloss black grilles, black Bentley badging and dark exterior detailing, complemented by Precision Design LED headlamps shared only with the GT Speed. Twenty-two-inch ten-spoke wheels come standard, with multiple dark finishes available.

Inside, the Continental GT S gains a unique two-tone upholstery split, fluted seats and extensive use of Dinamica fabric across key touchpoints. Piano Black veneer is standard, reinforcing the exterior theme, while carbon fibre and alternative finishes sit on the options list.

Bentley positions the new S models as the choice for drivers who value engagement as much as elegance. Pricing and local availability details have not been announced yet. DRIVEN understands Bentley has not disclosed those figures at this stage.
