‘Something Blue’ edition adds exclusive Mulliner touches.

‘Something Blue’ edition adds exclusive Mulliner touches.

  • The Bentayga Something Blue Collection is limited to 10 units exclusively for Japan.
  • Mulliner adds Ice exterior paint with blue undertones and bespoke blue interior detailing.
  • Power still comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 404kW and 770Nm.

Bentley has revealed a limited-edition Bentayga in Japan described as its most “feminine” interpretation of the luxury SUV to date, with production capped at just 10 examples.

Created by Mulliner, the Bentayga Something Blue Collection takes inspiration from the traditional wedding rhyme “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” — a motif that has curiously found favour in Japan.

Subtle blue styling

Rather than overt styling cues, Mulliner has opted for restraint.

The SUV is finished in metallic Ice, a white shade with subtle blue undertones visible in certain light. It rides on 22-inch silver alloy wheels, with brake calipers colour-matched to the exterior.

Inside, blue detailing is applied sparingly.

Seat backrests feature blue Bentley embroidery, while delicate blue floral motifs appear across the dashboard.

The rest of the cabin pairs Linen and Graphite Grey leather, extending across the steering wheel, upper doors and centre console.

Bespoke scuff plates carry ‘Something Blue Collection’ plaques, marking each of the ten vehicles.

The special edition was unveiled at Ooyane Plaza in Tokyo. Pricing begins at 34 million yen, approximately NZ$366K at current exchange rates, and several of the allocated vehicles have already been reserved.

Familiar V8 performance

Mechanically, the Something Blue Bentayga retains the standard 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8. Output stands at 404kW and 770Nm, delivered between 2000rpm and 4500rpm.

Bentley claims 0 to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 290km/h — figures unchanged from the regular V8 model.

While the theme may be wedding-inspired, the performance credentials remain firmly in line with the broader Bentayga range. The changes here are aesthetic rather than mechanical, offering a tailored finish for buyers seeking exclusivity in carefully measured doses.
