In a mic-drop moment, Audi has unveiled the brand new S6, S6 Avant, and S7 Sportback.

Alongside unveiling the new models, Audi revealed that there will be differing engines for the different regions that the three vehicles will be sold.

Europeans can expect to see a 3.0-litre V6 TDI engine that pumps out 257kW and a whopping 700Nm of torque. The power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic and Audi's iconic Quattro system.

Fuel consumption numbers are reasonably impressive because of the diesel engine. Audi has reported that the consumption ranges from 6.2 L/100km to 6.5 L/100km across the models.

The consumption numbers seem to be a sacrifice for performance as the S6 TDI can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5 seconds flat, the S6 Avant and S7 take one millisecond longer. Though these numbers will be lower than the petrol models, they are still reasonable.

Asia, the Middle East and the United States will all receive petrol variants of the three models. These will be powered by the RS5s twin-turbo TSFI V6 engine that produces 331kW and 600Nm of torque.

While the German manufacturer declined to comment on the performance of the S6 and S7, and considering the RS5 launches from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, we can expect slower, but similar times.

Dropping the ride height by 10mm, you'll find S sport suspension standard on all three of the models, as well as a high-performance braking system. The system comprises of six-piston calipers on all four wheels with 400mm discs up front and 350mm at the back. Ceramic discs are an optional extra for this system that drops 9kg off the total weight.

For the first time in Audi's history, customers will be able to order adaptive air suspension. Being a "comfort-oriented alternative", the system features three different ride modes.

Looking at the exterior, the S7 is the model that gets the biggest refresh. Sporting larger air intakes and different skid skirts, the S7 shares a revised grille and new wheels with all three models.

Inside the car, buyers will receive Alcantara seats as standard, but will have the option of upgrading to Valcona seats. A flat-bottom steering wheel and fine grain ash trim are also interior options.
