After teasing the marques possible return for well over a decade, Aston Martin has officially confirmed they're bringing Lagonda back to life in 2021.
Earlier in the year Aston Martin showcased the Lagonda Vision Concept at Geneva Motor Show, and the British carmaker has now confirmed a production version of the 'radical, sector-defining zero-emission SUV' be built.
Aston Martin say the Lagonda SUV will be the first luxury SUV driven exclusively by a zero emission powertrain and will uphold all the qualities of the super-luxury marque.
The Lagonda's styling will be an evolution of the bold design first seen on the Vision Concept and will feature 'near-future technologies', including an advanced battery electric drivetrain.
It's likely the Lagonda's powertrain will be based on the Aston Martin RapideE - the company's first full-electric car - developed in partnership with Williams Advanced Engineering.
Aston Martin say the production version of the Lagonda SUV will be the world's first 'ultra-stylish, supremely luxurious, fully electric emission-free vehicle' when it appears in 2021.

Lagonda was established in 1906, but has been owned by Aston Martin sicnce 1947. The 2021 SUV will be the first production car to wear a Lagonda badge since the four-door Aston Martin Lagonda luxury sedan 1989.
