The Aston Martin DB4 G.T. is officially back in production, with Aston Martin confirming the new cars are being built in one of the British marques most significant locations.
Production of the new DB4s has taken place at the company's Newport Pagnell site, a significant moment where history has come full-circle for the special run of 25 DB4 G.T. Continuation cars. The Newport Pagnell factory is the same place the original DB4 G.T.s were made almost sixty years ago.
Since Aston Martin moved to a purpose-built headquarters and production facility at Gaydon in 2003, Aston Martin’s Newport Pagnell premises has been home to Aston Martin Works - heart of the marque’s unrivaled heritage sales, service, spares and restoration operation.
The last car to leave the Newport site was the Mk1 Vanquish in 2007, but since that time classic Aston Martins have been restored by the comapny's highly-skilled Works team.
With a depth of knowledge and experience, and Aston Martin Works being the spiritual home for many of the marques most celebrated models - from DB2/4 to Vanquish S Ultimate - Newport Pagnell was the perfect facility at which to build the DB4 G.T. Continuation cars.
12-months after Aston Martin President and CEO, Andy Palmer first announced the DB4 G.T. Continuation project, the first of these track-only lightweight specification cars have been delivered to customers.
With each car taking approximately 4,500 man hours to build, the remaining cars will be completed and delivered during the course of 2018.
