Fifty Aston Martin owners enjoy the new DB11 on ice near Queenstown

The Aston Martin DB11 featured during the marque's first New Zealand on Ice programme near Queenstown last week.

Fifty Aston Martin owners from throughout the world experienced Aston Martin sports cars on ice and snow, taking to a variety of challenging courses at the Ssuthern Hemisphere Proving Ground ice driving facility.

With expert guidance from professional driving instructors, Aston Martin says guests honed their driving skills and walked away with an enhanced understanding of the dynamic capabilities of the company's range.

New Zealand On Ice represented one of the marque’s first Art of Living events, which encompasses once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to experience Aston Martin’s reputation for cutting-edge technology, iconic design and craftsmanship.

Patrik Nilsson, President of Aston Martin in Asia Pacific, said: “The Aston Martin DB11 is a hugely significant car continuing the illustrious DB bloodline, and it was crucial its Asia Pacific dynamic debut allowed clients to experience the powerful new model in a highly unique, exhilarating environment. It was an absolute pleasure hearing first impressions of the car, and witnessing the sheer enjoyment of participants from behind the wheel.

“It is also a testament to DB11’s comprehensive engineering programme that the car ran faultlessly here in New Zealand in freezing temperatures.  We are seeing outstanding demand for DB11 across the Asia Pacific region, and expect this to continue throughout the year and into 2017,” he said.

The DB11 is powered by a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine. Designed in-house, the new engine develops 600BHP and 700Nm of torque, making DB11 the most powerful production DB model ever. It has a top speed of 322km/h and a 0-100km/h time of 3.9sec.

The DB11 recommended retail pricing starts from $365,000 excluding on-road costs, and first local deliveries of the DB11 in New Zealand and Australia are scheduled to begin at the end of this year.
