Aston Martin's in-house tuning department AMR (Aston Martin Racing) has turned its attention to the V12 DB11 to create the British company's new flagship model.
Launched at the opening of Aston Martin's new Nürburgring-based AMR Performance Centre in Germany, the DB11 AMR packs more power, performance, improved dynamics and a more aggressive exhaust note. The AMR package also ads a range of new exterior and interior fittings.
The DB11 AMR's twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 now develops 630bhp, an additional 30bhp compared with the outgoing DB11 V12, and 127bhp more than the V8-engined DB11. Torque remains unchanged at 700Nm.
A 0-100km/h time of 3.7sec is an improvement of 0.2sec over the outgoing model while a top speed of 334km/h makes the DB11 AMR the fastest model in Aston Martin’s current production range.
You'll be able to spot the DB11 AMR with its lashings of exposed carbon fibre and gloss black detailing inside and out. Differences include dark headlight surrounds, smoked tail lamps and dark front grille and tailpipes. The exterior is finished with a gloss black roof, roof strake, side sills and splitter matched with carbon fibre hood blades and side strakes.
The dark theme continues inside with monotone leather and alcantara upholstery, bright central lime stripe and a leather sports steering wheel as standard.
The DB11 AMR is available in three Designer Specifications, plus an exclusive AMR Signature Edition, which carries a Stirling Green and lime livery.
Aston Martin also offer a range of race-inspired carbon-fibre extras including, engine cover, exhaust tips and spoiler. A carbon-fibre sports steering wheel is also available in the cabin cabin.

Chief Engineer Matt Becker says the new flagship GT balances both refinement and on-track handling. AMR enhancements are said to focus on creating a better sense of connection without harming ride quality, while transmission and exhaust changes deliver a more characterful drive.
Aston Martin President & Chief Executive Officer, Dr Andy Palmer, said of the DB11 has matured rapidly and the new AMR model would reveal more of the models sporting potential whist reamining a true GT car.

"It’s a combination that engages and cossets in equal measure to create a dynamic and seductive new flagship for the DB11 range, while consolidating the existing V12-powered DB11s as future collectibles”.
The DB11 AMR is limited to 100 units worldwide with prices starting at £201,995 for the AMR Signature Edition (NZ Pricing is yet to be announced).
