Hyundai has released two official sketches of the fourth-generation Santa Fe ahead of its public unveiling next month.
As expected from an earlier teaser, the new Santa Fe appears to take many design cues from Hyundai's smaller crossover, the newly-released Kona.
Hyundai say the SUV is based on a 'robust, stylish and voluminous composition' design, which is said to reflect the company's new SUV design identity going forward.
In contrast to the current model, the new Santa Fe's frontal design features a large cascading grille and thinner headlights.
The rear will also feature a new taillight design, with the sketches also showing a rear diffuser, spoiler, dual mufflers and new chrome fittings around the bumper.
Judging by the roofline, expect both five- and seven-seat variants of the new model to be offered.
Apart from the two sketches, Hyundai haven't said much about the new Santa Fe's specification or launch details.
However, one thing new feature the company confirmed last week was a new 'comprehensive package' fearing at least two of the automaker's latest active safety features.
The new Santa Fe will be equipped with an industry-first Rear Occupant Alert which monitors the rear seats to detect passengers and alerts the driver when leaving the car, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning is now enhanced by an automated braking function.
The Cross-Traffic Collision system is designed help avoid collisions when reversing out of narrow areas with poor visibility by warning the driver of approaching cars and applying the brakes automatically when needed.
Full details of the fourth-generation Santa Fe will be released during its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
