KGM, formerly known as SsangYong, is making a splash at the ongoing Fieldays event in Hamilton.
Taking place from June 12 to 15, 2024, at the Mystery Creek Events Centre, this marks the first public appearance of the rebranded South Korean maker under the name KGM. The highlight of its showcase will be the all-electric Torres EVX.
KGM Torres EVX
The Torres EVX is a notable addition to KGM's lineup, embodying a fresh design language and marking a new era under KG Mobility’s ownership.
This medium-sized SUV hopes to capture market share with a focus on utility and advanced technology. The vehicle is powered by a 73.4kWh battery, producing 152kW and 339Nm of torque. It promises a substantial range of up to 462km on a single charge.
One of the standout features of the Torres EVX is its impressive battery warranty, which covers one million km or 10 years, whichever comes first.
SsangYong stock clearance

In conjunction with the debut of the TORRES EVX, KGM is also utilising Fieldays as an opportunity to clear out their remaining SsangYong stock.
Attendees can expect substantial discounts on new SsangYong models, with prices starting from just $27k. The available models include the Tivoli Limited, Korando Sport and Limited, Rhino SPR and Rexton SPR Blackout.
Kym Mellow, General Manager of Inchcape New Zealand, encourages visitors to take advantage of the exceptional deals on offer. “Fieldays attendees will be able to buy a brand-new SsangYong with a 5-year warranty from only $26,990 plus on-road costs,” says Mellow.
In addition, visitors who register their interest in the KGM Torres will be entered into a draw to win a weekend getaway in the new SUV, complete with a dining experience at Christchurch’s renowned Brewda restaurant.
Fieldays visitors are invited to explore the future of KGM, enjoy refreshments and witness KGM vehicles firsthand. Mellow adds, “Come on over for a cuppa and enjoy a SsangYong vehicle bargain, or see the future of KGM in person.”
