While Audi hasn't competed in a World Rally Championship for a few decades, the German brand still revisits some design aspects of the iconic Audi Sport Quattro S1 across modern models.
Despite this, it doesn't look like Audi is going to revive the Quattro S1 anytime soon, so an electric startup has taken on the project, and plans to sell its creation as an all-electric sports car.

Working under the 'E-Legend' moniker, not much is known about the brand, other than it's from Germany, and it's going to make its public debut with the EL1 at the Munich International Motor Show later this year.
Obviously borrowing its aesthetic from Audi's rally star of yesteryear, the EL1 is a wonderful-looking creation. The blend of retro styling with modern light design looks stunning.
Like most performance EVs, this EL1 gets one electric motor on the front axle, and two at the rear. Altogether, these electric motors produce a hefty 600kW, which should give it a 0-100km/h time of around 2.8 seconds.
In terms of battery tech, the EL1 reportedly uses a 90kWh unit, with the same 800-volt technology as the Porsche Taycan. Range should sit around the 400km mark, which should be enough for a couple of laps of the Nurburgring in its most hardcore driving mode.
As you'd expect from a performance EV of this calibre, it will be capable of fast-charging, and the battery should feature a sophisticated liquid cooling system.
While it might not look like an ultra-exclusive supercar, this reimagined Audi may as well be one, with just 30 units slated for production. Each of these are set to cost north of 1.6 million, meaning deep pockets are a must.
What's more, E-Legend is set to reveal the EL2 and EL3 in the coming months, with the first of those two set to be inspired by the Lancia Stratos HF Stradale.
