By now we're all more than familiar with the performance capabilities of the Tesla range (electric car pun?), but admittedly most illustrations of said speed chops have come in the form of drag races on the internet.
Maybe that's why this newly surfaced video has garnered so much attention.
Filmed in Norway, this clip showcases a Tesla Model X's attempt to beat a trusty Toyota Landcruiser Prado on studded tyres at tug of war.
Landcruisers are of course the daddy of off-roading, and on a snowy surface you would be silly to bet against the Japanese SUV. Especially when put up against a silly Tesla.
Only, that's not how things play out.
Spoiler alert, the Tesla wins. And it does so with ease. While the Prado sits there, getting involuntarily tugged backwards, the Tesla motors on (another electric car pun?) with all four tyres putting power to the ground without wheel spin.
Rather intelligently, the owner of the Model X states in a disclaimer too big to miss that owners of the electric whizkids shouldn't recreate his efforts since Tesla could void their warranty.
It does raise the question of how potent an off-road Tesla would be...
