Aston Martin’s first mid-engine hybrid brings track tech to the road.

Aston Martin has officially revealed full details of the Valhalla, its first series-production mid-engine supercar and first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) model.

Scheduled for production in the second quarter of 2025, this high-performance vehicle promises a thrilling blend of cutting-edge technology and track-ready capability, limited to just 999 units.

Hybrid power

The Valhalla’s powertrain combines a bespoke 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with three electric motors.

The internal combustion engine (ICE) alone delivers 609kW, with the electric motors contributing an additional 184kW for a combined output of 793kW and 1100Nm of torque. This impressive setup allows the Valhalla to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in a blistering 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 350km/h.

The hybrid system includes a high-performance battery with advanced cooling technology, enabling rapid energy deployment and regeneration. With a pure EV range of 14km and a top EV speed of 140km/h, the Valhalla balances eco-conscious performance with thrilling driving dynamics.

Advanced aerodynamics

Drawing heavily from Formula One technologies, the Valhalla features active aerodynamics that generate over 60kg of downforce at speeds exceeding 240km/h.

A hydraulically actuated rear wing and concealed front wing work together to optimise balance, grip and stability, whether on the road or the track. These elements are integrated into a carbon-fibre monocoque structure, ensuring exceptional rigidity while keeping weight to a minimum.

The Valhalla’s suspension setup includes a pushrod front suspension with inboard dampers and a five-link rear system. Combined with Bilstein adaptive dampers, the vehicle offers a spectrum of driving modes - Sport, Sport+, Race and EV - tailored to diverse driving conditions.

Driver-centric interior

The cockpit embodies a minimalist yet high-tech design, emphasising driver engagement.

Lightweight carbon-fibre seats and an F1-inspired steering wheel enhance the sporty ambience, while the Aston Martin Human Interface (HMI) system delivers vital information through a driver-centric display.

Notably, the Valhalla introduces selectable advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) modes to adjust intervention levels for different driving scenarios.

A vision of the future

Adrian Hallmark, Aston Martin’s CEO, remarked, “Four years ago we set out on a journey to transform the Aston Martin brand by taking its historic and unmatched luxury credentials and adding cutting-edge F1-inspired technology and class-leading performance.”

As the first mid-engine series-production car in Aston Martin’s history, the Valhalla signals a bold future for the British marque. By combining innovative engineering with timeless design, it positions itself as a true driver-focused supercar.
