Volvo is giving the second-generation XC60 another light refresh as it enters its ninth year on the market.
The updates focus on minor exterior refinements, improved cabin materials and a more advanced infotainment system.
Despite its age, the XC60 remains Volvo’s top-selling model since its 2017 debut. While newer electric models like the EX30 and upcoming EX60 have dominated headlines, the XC60 continues to be a strong performer in global markets. This latest refresh ensures it remains relevant without straying too far from its familiar design.
Subtle exterior tweaks
Visually, the 2026 XC60 adopts a redesigned grille inspired by the latest XC90. The new pattern replaces the previous grid layout with intersecting diagonal lines, giving the SUV a fresh yet understated look.
Volvo has also darkened the taillights, a common facelift tactic, and introduced new wheel designs and paint options.
Larger display, faster software
The most noticeable change inside is the enlarged infotainment display, which grows from 9.0 to 11.2 inches. It boasts higher pixel density and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, which Volvo claims delivers twice the speed of the outgoing system and significantly improves graphics performance.
New premium materials, such as Quilted Nordico and Navy Herringbone Weave, enhance cabin refinement. Additional updates include a more effective wireless phone charger and redesigned cupholders.
No mechanical changes
Volvo has not altered the XC60’s powertrain lineup. The B5 model continues with a 2.0-litre mild-hybrid four-cylinder producing 183kW, while the T8 plug-in hybrid remains the most powerful option with 339kW. European markets also retain the T6 PHEV, delivering 257kW.
Pricing details will be announced closer to launch, with the updated XC60 expected to arrive in showrooms in 2025. Meanwhile, Volvo plans to roll out the new infotainment interface to models built from 2020 onwards via an over-the-air update in 2025.
