While Toyota turned to BMW for help with creating the A90 Supra, the Japanese brand has kept its partnership with Subaru alive for the next generation 86 and BRZ pair, with the latter being teased over the weekend.

Set to be unveiled later this year, fans got a taster of this new BRZ at Subaru's Subiefest World Record Attempt, which tried to break Guinness World Record for largest parade of vehicles from the same brand.

While Subaru was quite stingy with its coverage of the car from the event, fans were less secretive of this new model, and blasted pictures of the new BRZ all over Instagram.

Due to the fact that the car was covered in camouflage, and behind a drop sheet, the details were hidden, but we've now got a better idea of what the final product is going to look like.

At the front you can see rounded headlights that look somewhat Jaguar-like, behind the front wheels sits a vent that looks like it has come off a Lexus F-Sport, and these Lexus styling cues carry through to the back.

As to what sits beneath this car's bonnet also still remains a mystery, but it has been rumoured to be the 2.4-litre naturally-aspirated engine that's currently used in Subaru's line-up.

This engine makes 161kW and 211Nm of torque, which is a small upgrade over the outgoing model. Any extra power, and this would be stepping on the toes of Toyota's 2.0-litre turbocharged Supra.
