The facelifted BMW M4 coupe has been spotted again, and this time around the spy photographers also managed to snag photos of what might be a slightly more aggressive new variant in the range.

The white car seen in this set features a more prominent front splitter and a fairly tall lip spoiler on the boot. There’s also extra disguise on the bonnet hiding a toned down version of the engine bump seen on the M4 GTS.

This prototype is fitted with mismatched front and rear alloy wheels. Up front, the car wears 19-inch alloy wheels with 265/55 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, while at the rear there’s the 20-inch GTS alloys with wider versions of the Michelin rubber.

Snapped along with the white car is a red prototype that does without those extra aerodynamic aids. Both cars feature revised headlight internals, as well as what seem to be OLED tail-lights.

It’s expected that the updated M4 will feature an unchanged drivetrain. That means a 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six with 317kW of power and 550Nm of torque.

Drive will again be sent to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. When fitted with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the pre-facelift M4 is capable of running from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds.
