Prepare to drop your jaw with Lego's new 1:8 Porsche GT3 RS

I was always a K'nex kid growing up, but I suppose nobody's perfect.

The contemporary toy scene is approaching a new golden age for those strange beings known as 'Adult Collectors' — of which I have to count myself. Hot Wheels and Matchbox are tapping into previously unexplored strains of car culture — the former recently introducing cars like the Nissan 180SX, Datsun 510 sedan and wagon, and Mazda RX-3 to their line-up due to the increased interest in Japanese car culture.

Lego have been doing it too; having upped the anti on their car releases. GT cars, sports cars, and even Volkswagen's ubiquitous Kombi have enjoyed the Lego treatment over the last few years, as the brand's attention to detail has gone up and up and up.

And now they have a new incoming large-scale car release; this 1:8-scale Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

Part of their Technic line, the GT3 comes with 2,704 pieces, and a number of incredible details.

There's the fully replicated chassis, with a number of functioning features including ...

... functioning paddle shifters.

As you'd expect, all the doors open, revealing a detailed interior, engine, and frunk — the latter, naturally, obviously, including ...

... its own Porsche-branded luggage. How chic.

All of this sumptuous plastic excess comes at a cost of $300USD, but no word on what price it would have on our shores. It's also a limited edition, which is sure to create a market for these online.

But whatever the price will be, please put me down for three.
